    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

Is 39 to old to get pregnant?

I am soon to be 39 am I too old to get pregnant? My boyfriend and I are wanting to have a child together, he has his son and I have my daughter.
David K Walmer, MD, PhD responded:
The only way to know is to try. Every woman has a natural age-related decline in fertility. Some declines are faster than others. If you don't get pregnant within 6 months and really want a baby, I would seek help to know what options you have to amplify your chances. If you want to know what your ovarian reserve is even before beginning to try, you could get some blood work (AMH & a cycle day 2-4 FSH and estradiol level). Good luck!
