Female Infertility related to Hernia Repair?

An_247834 posted:
I had open surgery for an inguinal hernia over two years ago and have been having trouble conceiving ever since. We have two dd's (ages 4 & 6) who were easily conceived and, while I realize I am older than when I conceived both of them, I feel that my infertility might be related to my previous surgery. I saw on WebMd that some "rare" side effects of this type of surgery could result in problems with the female reproductive organs. I have seen a couple doctors who say the two are not related, but I am not convinced. Anyone have any experience with this, or know anyone who has? Many thanks!
