Just recently I've being thinking about having a baby but of course I don't want to infect my partner.

Is there anyone out there with Herpes ttc and what are you doing to protect your partner?
David K Walmer, MD, PhD responded:
Although, it is impossible to be certain that you can prevent all recurrent infections, episodes of recurrent herpes simplex infections can be reduced significantly by taking prophylactic doses of acyclovir or valacyclovir. The dose of valacyclovir that is recommended is 1 gram by mouth once a day in patients with normal kidney function.

I've not had an out break in 5 yrs.
I'm so lost with this stuff, I'll make an appointment with my doctor.
