Luteal Phase question....

Hello, I've been trying almost a year now. I'm wondering if 'so-called' luteal phase is the same every cycle? some articles said that it is the same, the problem is that I used the kit to test for ovulation window, and it came out to be from 23 to 28 days, and my cycle is average 38-40 days (for every 3 month interval), in the past 12 months.

My husband can't ejaculate well inside me, so we have tried different things, like self insermination too, still not working. Praying still, but every time when my period started, I got very sad and depressed for a few days, and trying to be good because I'm afraid the depression and emotional swing would affect fertility.

Any suggestion and advice is welcome.

I am 35, and he is 55, is it possible becuase of him being older, and about healthy sperm counts, he got checked last year and the doctor said he's still okay.
