If everything is "unremarkable", why haven't I ovulated in a year and a half?

I feel uninformed. I went to the dr to be checked out because I haven't had a period since June of 2011. My DH and I are wanting to start ttc and obviously I know a baby won't come if my body isn't functioning properly. I am overweight but not ridiculously so. I was on BC for right at a year and a half, then had to come off of it due to my insurance costing more. I had my period after I stopped like normal but that was the last one I've had since. The Dr said my ovaries and uterus looked exceptional on the ultrasound and my hormones and pap all came back with wonderful healthy results. So why am I not ovulating? What could be the cause of this since its not pcos?? Anybody had this happen to them? I will be 22 in march. My family doesn't really have much o a history with infertility. I'm just trying to find some answers. TIA everyone <3
