Trying to have a baby

I am having a rough time trying to conceive. My boyfriend and I have talked about it and are wanting to have a baby together. I don't have a regular period and when I do have one it is very painful and lasts about 5 days or so. I don't have insurance so I can't see a doctor about my issues. Is there anything I can do aside from praying for a baby thoat would help me have one?

Try over-the-counter ovulation tests that you take everyday, so you can know whether or not you are ovulating definitively.
