Hi Carla - thanks so much for the message! Yes, I had the hysteroscopy today. I came back and wanted to post but couldn't get online! So, here's my update:

The hysteroscopy wasn't too bad. I had horrible cramping during it, but it was fast (a lot like the die test). The images are really cool, but I was holding my breath and concentrating on not moving so I couldn't focus on them. I just have this fleeting imagine in my mind of the inside of the uterus and something that looked like feathers floating around in the saline solution... ANYway. :) Everything looked good! So I'm starting stims today! I am so excited to start stims.

And DH and I told our families this weekend - everyone except his sister who we couldn't get on the phone at the right time. There were a few of those well-meaning but annoying comments like "it's really important for you, as the woman, to relax and not stress" and "you always have to wonder if people who have problems would have been okay if they hadn't waited so long" from the in-laws and some Catholic stuff from my mom, but overall everyone is understanding, and mom-in-law will visit to take care of me during bed-rest.

I feel really hopefull!

Rose, I'm glad your test went well and I'm sorry for the insensitive remarks your family made. I hope they don't continue with them. If they do, I'd probably say something to them about it. I'd probably start off with a simple "I know you mean well, but your comments are hurtful". If that doesn't work I'd be more straight forward about it, but hopefully it's out of their system now.

You must be cycling right along with Carla, she said she started stims today too. How exciting!
Cherie (36), DH (37), TTC 4 years will soon be entering 5th year of TTC. 1st IUI 11/09, 2nd IUI 1/10, 3rd IUI 2/10 all BFN. 1st IVF ER 6/6/10 ET 6/11/10 BFN. Hoping for FET 9/24/10

Hey Rose, great news about your hysteroscopy results. How exciting to be starting stims. Are you excited about your new RE?

Regarding the family members...people should just keep their mouth shut. After having a m/c I have realized that. I know people mean well, but it certainly doesn't always come across that way.

You and Carla will be real cycle buddies. It's always fun to have someone that is on the same timeline as you. I met a girl online when I was doing IVF #1 and we were cycle buddies and then due date buddies. We still stay in touch!

Keep us posted.

Yah!! I'm glad it went well. I remember them being kind of crampy, but it went really fast, too. (I've had 2)

I started stims this am - and you started tonight?? WOW - we're as close as close can get, huh??

Look forward to your updates.
Take care!!!

Thank you ladies! Cherie - I think I needed that advice on the family members. I'm hoping they got it out of their systems, but I have a feeling I'll have to stand up for myself at some point.

And yup - Carla and I are pretty much exact cycle buddies! How fun!

How crazy our cycles are so close.

Good luck with your family. I am not very good at saying "that is really hurtful". So another reason we tell very little to our family. They actually have no idea what type of fert tx we've been doing, or what is wrong with whom. If I HAD to tell them like you did - I don't know what I'd do - I'd probably just say something like "I can only hear positive things right now".

Yay for you and Carla! I'm excited for you both to be cycling together. I have yet to schedule my hysteroscopy but appreciate your description. My RE does it cycle days 6-10. Have you been on Lupron Rose? I probably missed that post while I was on vacation.

I wish you both the best of luck and am hoping for you both to get your BFPs!!!

rosecam replied to leji1's response:
Hi Ellie - it all happened so fast that I'm not surprised you missed it! I had my consult with the new RE in mid-July and he did an u/s. He saw that I hadn't ovulated yet, so he had me come in a week later. I had ovulated at that point, so he started me on Lupron on July 26. I guess since we caught my ovulation just right, I could skip the pill phase. The hysteroscopy was Cycle day 8 for me. And now, just 3 weeks after meeting the RE for the first time, I'm already on stims! I can hardly believe it.

Rose, something else that may help. I just finished my one book and the last four pages were how to be supportive to someone going through IF. You can try handing them these pages and saying, I'd appreciate it if you would take the time to read this so you'll have a better understand of how to support us during this difficult time. If anyone is interested I can scan the pages and email them to you. Just let me know my email is aprilCDB@aol.com. Make sure to clearly put something in the title of the email so I don't think it's junk mail.
