    Nervous about Egg Retrieval Tomorrow

Hi everyone! I am getting ready to do my egg retrieval tomorrow. I am happy that we've made it this far in the cycle but am kind of nervous about what's to come. I am hoping that the ER goes well and that we get some good eggs that become good embryos. Anyone have advice as to how to deal with the nerves? What should I expect?

Well first, congrats on making it to retrieval! Second, there is nothing for you to be nervous about. I have had 3 retrievals and they all went very smoothly. In my experience they were always able to retrieve more eggs than they thought based on the previous US's. With my retrievals I was asleep so you don't feel anything at all. Had some cramping afterwards and they will give you pain meds if you need them. I always went home and slept for a couple hours afterwards. Back to work the following day.

You will be fine.....keep us updated!

Thanks so much for your reassurance! I am now home and the ER went very well. They were able to get 7 eggs and I'm hopeful about how many embryos that will mean. I go back Friday for ET and am excited about that. I will let you know how it goes!

Thanks! It went well and now we will just wait and see how the embryos turn out.
