I'm sorry to hear that you got such rough news. While my tubes were open, I have a myoma (benign uterine muscle tumor), old ovaries/eggs (30 yrs old with 40 yr old ovaries), multiple m/c, and mild PCOS endo. We chose to go the IVF route after multiple other procedures and were successful the first time! I am 4w3d pregnant have my 2 nd beta tomorrow and see how many next week. Good luck on your journey.

My husband and I did IVF and are pregnant with twins on the first try. Both of us are 36.

Ask your OB to refer you to a specialist. Did you have an HSG yet? I know that the dye can unblock tubes in some people. Otherwise, they'll have to do IVF and go get your eggs. It freaked me out that they'd be going in to get mine with a hollow needle, but I was put in twilight sleep and don't even remember nodding off.

After going through IVF, I definitely recommend it. It wasn't nearly as painful or complicated as I imagined. It was, however, pretty expensive. We paid $10,500 for the procedure and like $4,000 in meds.

Good luck to you and lots of baby dust!

I was told that my tubes were blocked after my first HSG done by a radiologist. My ob/gyn also gave me the news. I was devastated. She referred me immediately to the RE, who upon looking at the images decided he would repeat the HSG himself to try to unblock the tubes. During that procedure he kept pumping the dye through hoping it would spill, and it did eventually. So I would definitely see an RE to get another opinion. Good luck and sending prayers!

My RE did my HSG himself, too.
