As far as I can tell all over the counter laxatives contain sodium phosphate. This can be deadly for peope with kidney failure. Does anybody have a suggetion to help my wife out?

My nephrologist gave me something called lactulose. I would check with the docs before taking anything though. I know this is ok for renal patients though. I was on dialysis when I took it. It's a bit yucky and I didn't feel that well, but it helped.
