Upper Left Side Abdominal Pain

Here for the past week under my rib cage on the left side (upper abdominal) I've been feeling discomfort, now I've been having sharp pains shoot through the same place. the pain only last for a few seconds, but its very uncomfortable. What could this be? I'm only 23, could it be a Kidney Stone?
