In some cases it mught. However if the patient is experiencing a chronic fever, then there could be dozens of different causes. And thyroid or other endocrine changes can cause lowered body temp.

So rather than working from one symptom backward, we need to get some solid lab test numbers to begin narrowing down the real cause.
