Staghorn calculus stones
beckyrae1 posted:
Hi, new to this but I'm looking for anyone who has experienced staghorn kidney stones. I have on my right two stones, 1" and 3/4" on my left 1 1/4" . My urologist says these are pretty large especially considering I'm a 27yo female. I am schedule to have percutaneous nephrolithotomy done July 17. My question is what should I expect after surgery and which the stent? Also is there anything that helps to ease the discomfort I'm having now? Flank pain and the constant feeling of needing to go? Any help would be appreciated, I've never met anyone who has had these issues before! Thanks!

The surgery is not bad however the stents are uncomfortable. When you walk you will feel it moving up and down your ureter. I get kidney stones/stents. Really the only thing that works for me is a hot bath. NO SOAP that can cause an infection just hot water.
