I was diagnosed with a kidney infection mid may. I went to the ER with severe abdominal pain, naseau and vommitting. The quick dip test came back with blood and bacteria in my urine. I was put on cipro. They then cultured the urine and that came back negative. I finished the antibiotics and went for a repeat urine test. That too came back with blood and WBC, they waited until the culture came back which took 5 days because they did a sensitivity test. This time the culture came back positive and it appeared the bacteria was sensitive to Tetracycline. I took that for 10 days, finished the antibiotics and started vomitting again. Went for a repeat urine and it AGAIN showed bacteria, now I am waiting for the culture to come back again. I have naseau when I eat and am tired all the time. I am taking the antibiotics as prescribed and just dont seem to be kicking this infection. What is causing this recurrent infection and how do I get rid of it. My doctor mentioned IV antibiotics this time any suggestions would be greatly apprecieated. I am a single parent with two kids and I just cant sick for a month.

Sometimes, with an infection, IV antibiotics are the only way. Ask you doctor to test for other causes. Pay close attention to all your symptoms and make a list for your doctor. Please keep us updated.
