I have a nickel allergy and need a total knee replacement. Has anyone else had a successful implant despite having a nickel allergy?

Cutaneous sensitivity to nikkel or any metal doesn't actually automatically imply a sensitivity when metal is implanted in the body. Patch testing for metals that are placed on your skin are not predictive of what they might do once implanted inside. If highly concerned, ask your surgeon to draw blood and send your blood out for antigen challenge. This is usually done at specialized labs.

When are they going to come out with a 100% nickel free replacement!??? Anyone???
