Shin pain after hip replacement
avatar
Marisant posted:
Hello!
I had my right hip replaced in Dec. 2011. I recovered quickly. However for the past few weeks my right and left(not as much) shins have been painful when I walk. Could this be due to the THR? I seem to limp again because of the pain.

Bal M Rajagopalan, MD responded:
Hello,

No, not likely especially if it has been many months and involvement of both sides. This may be functional tendinitis or shin splints from you pushing yourself physically more.
