    Hip Replacement AGAIN...same hip

I had THR one year ago and have had severe thigh pain ever since. Now my doctor says I have to have it redone because the bone didn't grown into the prosthetic and the metal is loose. He proposes drilling a deeper hole and putting in a different metal spike into the leg. Is this right? He says I am part of the lucky 1% whose bone does not adhere to the metal. Any insights anyone?
