severe hip arthrosis

I had TKR 4 weeks ago.....because of severe pain in my groin (same leg as TKR), they did a CT scan of my pelvis and of my left femur. The report noted "severe left hip arthrosis". As a general rule, approximately how long will it be before I can have hip replacement surgery? I have an added issue in that I have a plate and 11 screws in my left femur from a spiral fracture that occured about 20 years ago. The surgeon mentioned that because the plate extends almost to my hip, I may be looking a a separate procedure to remove the hardware before he can replace my hip.
