Hip pain 2 yrs post op.

Two years ago I had arthro surgery on my hip. They fixed a big acetabular tear flap, removed some cartilage that had just been chewed up, and did a microfracture/bone shaving repair. I have had pain, but significantly reduced pain, daily since the procedure. However, the pain had increased notably as of late (approximately two years post op). I was able to run (>3 miles a few times weekly) but have stopped running and the pain is still increasing despite that fact that I am only taking walks now for exercise. By the evening I am often a bit limpy. I am only 31 and this seems askew from the results I was told to expect. My GP tells me to take it easy and keep taking anti-inflammatories but this is not very effective. I am unsure what the problem is or what to do? Should I see a specialist again? Is this arthritis? Do I need another procedure? Any well informed advice or even personal experience in this would be so welcomed!!!!!

Definitely see your specialist. Your original surgeon for example, hopefully he/she is an orthopedic surgeon. Get an appointment as soon as you can and go from there. Let us know how you're doing.
