*my dad has lung cancer. he is 84 and apparently the cancer is in
remission, however he now gets severe pains on that side of his
lung as if he is being stabbed. I only found this out at Christmas
time sitting at the dinner table. He was in horrible pain. What is
happening to him? He and my mom keep information
from my sister and I but they tell the neighbors all, who have been
told not to talk to us and I cannot talk to the doctor due to the HIPPA
laws. I live 4 hours away also. If his cancer is in remission then why is
he in such horrible pain? He may also be dying, but wont tell us.

Hi and welcome,

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. I'm not sure any one online would know why he is in pain, it would be guessing.
Can you talk to your Mom, tell you how you feel about this and that you don't like being left out. Tell her just what you posted here, that you feel like the neighborhood knows and you and sis don't.
Ask her to share what's going on and remind her that you would feel much better knowing instead of being left in the dark about your fathers health.

Best of luck and health to him!
