What is the difference between these two? My mom had stage 4 lung cancer and now my uncle in California may have lung disease. I didn't know there was a difference. Can someone please explain?

Lung cancer is, well, a cancerous tumor in the lung (and in stage IV this has spread to other parts of the body).

"Lung disease" is more of a catch-all phrase that can mean a wide variety of respiratory issues. What specific lung disease does your uncle have?
