I usually smoke 3 cigarettes a day. Whether the risk of lung cancer is high? I tried to stop smoking, but it so hard... [br>I'm 23 and I do sports (soccer).

Sweetie, if I only smoked 3 cigs a day I'd consider myself a non-smoker!! There are total non-smokers who get lung cancer, and heavy smokers who don't. You just never know. But, if you're smoking just 3 cigs a day, it's likely that you can end up smoking a lot more. It'll sneak up on you. Is it worth the risk? I don't think so. It's not just the risk of lung cancer - it's the smell, you don't even realize how bad you & your clothes reek; the filth - your walls and everything else in your home will be coated with yukky brown stuff. I just learned, it's not just dirty, it's absorbed through the skin by children and pets. I may not be concerned about my own health, but the thought of giving my pets and grandchildren health problems not just from second-hand smoke, but from the nicotine build-up on me, my clothes, and everything in my house - well, that's cause for concern, and I feel just terrible!! I wish I knew better when I was your age, but back then smoking was "cool" and almost everyone smoked, everywhere. Even patients in hospitals!
