Metastasize to the spine?

My mother was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer 4 months ago. She has been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. 1 month ago the tumor appeared to have shrunk. Recently she has begun to have back pain occasionally. Is it common for lung cancer to metastasize to the spine while the patient is on chemo and radiation.

It is common for lung cancer to move to other parts of the body. She would need to undergo some testing to determine if her back pain is due to this spreading or is being caused by something else.
