Death by Lung Cancer

I am not sure if anyone can answer my question because i dont have a lot of info. but here it goes. My grandfather died of lung cancer. now after some time there is a person telling me that he died early because of his wife giving him his pills with hot water, and that by doing so it spead up the process. Is this possible? am sorry like i said i have no further info about the pills all i kno is he had lung cancer.

Giving someone pills would not speed up the progression of lung cancer.

Sometimes at the end of life one might take extra pain pills to end the suffering associated with lung cancer.
