Just had PET scan, and got horrible results...Things are lighting up on both lungs, as well as lymph nodes.

I was told a pet scan would confirm Whether all of these fast growing tumors were benign or not...There is nothing more to rule out. Next stop is biopsy which is supposed to reveal staging and see why lymph nodes are all lighting up as well. Why is it that a Dr. insists on passing me off to an oncologist, if he refuses to say out right what all of the tests point to? He doesn't want to be honest, and seems to be prolonging a validation that cancer does exist, but won't say so until a biopsy reveals what type and what stage it is. Am I going to an oncologist too soon, or should I have put up with his backtracking, and use him for the pulmonary aspects first. He seemed upset when I educated him on his own contradictions. I have so much more terminology I need to know about and simple basic questions...not coming forth. Any suggestions?

Take the Poll

Do you think Drs. pass the buck so they don't have to be the one who actually says "it's the C word", Or are they worried more about their own liability rather than a straight forward answer? Everything on the net tells me he's holding back the obvious truth!
  • Refer to an oncologist who knows you want straight answers
  • Seek a Dr. that remains true to what he says?
  • Find answers on the net?
  • Tape record all visits/ keep notes?
  • learn more and have him help with definitions?
