I was told on nov 5 2011 that i have copd. I didnt even know i had it until that evening on nov 5 i got my neighbor to run me to the e.r cause i could hardly breath. I was told that night that i have copd and many small nodules on my lungs. I been going to lung dr since then and yesterday i had to go get test done to see what my lung capasity was and what stage my copd is at. The 1 that did test yesterday did tell me that i lost 25%of my lung capasity. Sure i was depressed when i heard all this but then someone told me dont be depressed about it just try to fix it.Copd you cant fix but you can slow it down. I started smokeing when i was 13 until this now and im 42 and smoked 2 to 3 packs a day then i talked to my dr and she put me on chantix and it has been working great. My kids ages 8 and 6 say yay mommy stoped smoking she going to live longer and watch us grow up. So for all of you with copd dont give up.
