Of course, obviously, I wish they would invent a cure! That said, I would like them to finally come up with one stinkin' test that is reliable to dx lupus. The runaround between doctors - one rheumy saying you have it and another rheumy saying you don't - not knowing how to plan your life, what you can and can't do, what drugs to take, how often to have tests....all could be eliminated with one uniform test.

I know...I'm dreaming big!

Something as effective as steroids without all the side effects. BTW that is not the new drug Benlysta despite all the recent fuss

It seems like doctors have become so (over) specialized these days! Why, if there are so many auto-immune diseases, isn't there an auto-immunology specialist?

With love, with patience and with faith, we'll make our way.

If I had my wish, it is the side effects of lupus that for which treatment/cure could be found. I have pulmonary hypertension as a result of lupus-so breathing is gasping for air at times.

Someone else may have lupus nephritis and need to be on dialysis and is awaiting a kidney transplant, Then after the transplant, that person will need to be on anti-rejection medication his/her whole life.

Or there's the person w/ tons of side effects to steroids used to treat lupus. Or there is the person with blood disorders as a result of lupus. All of those are chronic illnesses for which treatment is little understood by most docs.
