Fingers and eyelids

The most constantly present misery my wife has with Lupus is pain, burning and inflammation of her fingers and eyelids (externally). Anyone know of a relief strategy to give her some comfort from time to time?? She understands that it is one of the ways Lupus manifests for her and that is is not "curable". So far, none of the rheumatologists, dermatologists or opthamologists she has seen have had an answer to her pleas.
