I have been wondering the last few weeks if I have Restless Leg Syndrome. My legs (and sometimes arms) twitch and jerk from time to time but mostly when I am sleeping or falling asleep at night. I don't really feel any pain until it actually happens. Last night was so bad my husband ended up sleeping on the couch because I was keeping him awake. He told me I have done this as long has he has known me but it is getting much worse now. I wake up with it and the last time I drove my leg spasmed and I ended up in a minor fender bender (thankfully it was just a parking lot). I don't drive now because I'm afraid it will happen again. It also makes me wonder if perhaps I am developing neurological symptoms as well.
Does anyone else have symptoms like this?

Hi, I went for a period where I would literally wake up from jerking so violently trying not to fall out of bed. It helps me not to take plaquenil close to bedtime, I get horrible nightmares.

I don't know about you but I definately have neurological symptoms. I said it for yours. But finally I said I am not right and they did an MRI and I do have some lesions in my left temprel, then I had some cognitive testing done which went into more depth my exact issues.

When my legs feel like they can't stop moving at night almost like riding a bike I put arnica gel on them and If they still bother me I take benedryl.

Go with your gut and tell your doctor>

Rjanu....Thank you for your reply. It's nice to know I'm not alone out there with these bizaare symptoms. I see my rheumy next week and am going to go over it all and ask for an MRI (I'm claustrophobic so that takes guts). I will keep you posted on what comes of it.
Have a great evening!

Good luck with your appointment. You can ask for a place with an open MRI if there is one near you. My father in law is very claustrophobic and has been ok with the open MRI.
