New and disgusting symptom..

So in addition to lupus, raynauds and fibro, I have sjogrens. And I must say, out of them all, it has bothered me probably the most. It has caused my teeth to break, constant thirst, a million cavaties, difficulty swallowing (had my throat stretched twice), lost my sense of smell and taste for many months ( still have distorted taste)....the list just goes on and on.

Well today as I was choking on my own spit because I swallowed wrong, I noticed that the roof of my mouth felt funny. I got a flashlight to peek in there and noticed these clusters of little bumps - reminds me of a cluster of fish eggs ( warned you this was disgusting) all over the back of my throat. My throat looked red ( but doesn't hurt) and doesn't really feel swollen. The roof of my mouth looks discolored but doesn't hurt.

Anybody else get these? I suppose - as my throat doesn't really hurt much - I will just watch them.

Never seen or heard what you're experiencing before, I only have disgustingly thick spit. So when I wake up in the morning I really have morning breath, eww. I think you need to let your doctor know what you are experiencing. There might be something they can do, a rinse or something else. It doesn't sound right and could create real mouth problems down the line. Good luck.

Lisa,

Check out the tip that I just posted about dry mouth. The bumps that you are describing need to be seen by your physician. They could represent oral candidiasis (a fungal infection) or lichen planus (an inflammatory condition) or may be another kind of an infection. The treatment would depend on what the diagnosis is. Wishing you the best. Keep us posted.

Hi,

I did see my primary doctor the other day - not due to my throat as the blisters or whatever they were disappeared - but due to a lump/cyst/mass I discovered in my cheek near the bottom jaw bone (above the teeth, not near the neck) He didn't think it was cancer as it moved around, but probably a cyst of some type. Told me to watch it.

Can't help but be a little concerned as I am still recovering from maxillary surgery on that same side where they removed some weird cyst that destroyed a lot of facial bone... sigh...
