Can you have more than one autoimmune disease ?

I have been diagnosed with vasculitis but i read every ones commits and i have or have had everything u have described or r going thru,,i have also recently been told they thing i have fibr gonna test next month,can u have more than one autoimmune disease, i have a faint butterfly across my nose and top of cheeks,girls i'm serious all my symptons points to lupus but when i researches vasculitis on the mayo clinic web site its a little more detailed i have all those symptoms too now for sure just like my screen name i am totallly confused any insight wld b helpful, one of my drs is a rhumetologist and infectous disease specialist he wld know if i had both wldn't he? any suggestions on finding out if u can have more than 1 autoimmune disease? thanks and GOD bless u all

Yes you can! In fact, it is very common to have several autoimmune diseases at once. For examplem I have Lupus and lupus nephritis with secondary Sjogrens and also have autoimmune hypothyroidism Raynauds and fibromyalgia. It's like an autoimmune party going on in my body! I wish my invitation would have gotten lost in the mail! Many people on this board also have many autoimmune diseases as well.

Lots of us have 2 or more autoimmune diseases.I have lupus, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and autoimmune hepatitis. I also have lots of problems caused by the meds I take-so anything is possible. Friend of mine has 4 different autoimmune diseases.

OMG, I thought i might be the only one with so many autoimmune illnesses, I have hep-c / lupus/ R.A/ osteoporosis / fibromyolgia/cfs...I'm sure i don't need to mention all the symtoms that go along with, prob is they all overlap one another.,
