Lupus and Increased Risk for Necrotizing Fasciitis (Flesh-Eating Bacteria)

Flesh-eating bacteria has been in the news lately. After a zip-line accident, 24 year old Aimee Copeland has lost her leg and is now at risk of losing other limbs due to necrotizing fasciitis (flesh-eating bacteria).

It is now reported she has lupus which may have increased her risk of developing necrotizing fasciitis.
