I am a child survivor of the Holocaust(only one of the family to survive),living in Israel. Was diagnosed with lupus a couple of months ago.Anyone out there who struggle to cope with lupus and PTSD? A great relief to finally know what has been wrong for so many years, and to get treatment. But feel a bit lonely and would be grateful to hear from others in similar situation

Hi, I do not have PTSD, but wanted to welcome you, and hope you feel a little less lonely when you hear from others on this space.

I am sorry for your experience. PTSD is fairly common in your situation. There is no direct connection between lupus and PTSD, but it has been fairly well established that stress is one of the triggers for lupus. I would suggest that you contact local lupus support groups to be in touch with others in your situation. Cognitive behavioural therapy can be effective in managing stress and potentially could help manage and/or prevent lupus flares.

Terezin,

I also just wanted to welcome you here. I am sorry that I don't know of anyone else in the same place or situation that you are. But please know that with the internet, you are never alone. You seem like an amazingly strong, and brave person, I hope you choose to stay in contact with us here on the forum, as we can probably learn a lot from your strength. Do you have a website that I can see some of your writings and children's books?

Do keep in touch !

Bonnie
