Diabetic husband, zero sperm count & HCG shots

Hi, my husband has type 1 diabetes and had been on testosterone shots which did give some 'normalcy' with energy, appetite, etc. Well, we found out that not only does t1d alone lower our chances of getting pregnant, but the T shots also deplete sperm count. Our urologist has him on HCG shots 3 times weekly in hopes of sperm development. So, he has been on the HCG for 3 weeks now and he is a emotional mess! Very sad, cries a lot, body hurts, no appetite, severe insomnia, body shakes. The Doctor said this is fairly normal and we need to allow more time to let the swing of different hormones take effect but life is nuts! I don't have a husband anymore and I am wondering if there is something seriously wrong. Any suggestions would be a great help.
Thanks!

Sounds like a lot going on with your husband but the HCG injections are the best for getting that sperm production back. Hope he can hang in there long enough to get you pregnant. He can also work with an endocrinologist to manage these hormonal imbalances and diabetes.

If counts return in the next month or two he should cryopreserve a few ejaculates that could be used for later use if he needs to return to that testosterone. Trying to get samples for inseminations frozen would be ideal.
