Varicocele Repai

Hi, my husband had a varicocele repair done 3 months go at recommendation of RE and Urologist to help with sperm counts for IVF. He is still having frequent discomfort and pain in testicles and incision sites. We were told he would be back to normal in 7-10 days post surgery. He has been on doxycycline for 3 months and has taken anti-inflammatory meds as needed. A recent CT scan and ultrasound show no abnormalities. Current urologist said my husband's case is unique and "this must just be how your body responds to surgery." What are recommendations for next steps? We are both really frustrated with his progress and would not have had this procedure done had we known the outcome. Looking for answers to help my husband to feel well.
