Small scales on nose

butterflygarden posted:
I noticed that I seen to have a little scaly patch right on the end of my nose. I can scratch it off, but it never goes away. I found some info here on this site that seems to suggest it could be "actinic keratosis".

I am planning to see my derm next week, but I wanted to drop in here first and see if you could share some pointers on what I should talk to her about. And, if this IS actinic keratosis, what are the normal treatments for it? Once treated, does it come back?

Is it likely I will scar? I'd hate to have a huge scar on my nose. Yikes!

Any direction is much appreciated.

I had the same symptoms 15 years ago, it turned out to be a basal cell cancer and had a MOHS procedure, no recurrence.
