Going for second opinion

Hello I am 36 years old. I have been having a lot of health problems lately and going to Doctor after doctor. I went to have a endoscopy done and the results came back with me having melonoma cells in my stomach. Is this possible? The Dr. is sending me to get another test done at a different hospital for a second opinion. I have been looking for information on this but I can't find any.

Hello and Welcome -

I am so sorry to hear about what's going on. Have you been diagnosed with melanoma anywhere on your skin?

In doing an internet search I found a couple of references -

Primary Gastric Melanoma : A Rare Cause of Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding

Melanoma of the stomach: reality or fiction?

Please check back in to let us know what you find out after the second opinion.

Take Care,
Elizabeth

I apologize I made a mistake the Dr. talked to me again as did the Dr. I will be getting the second opinion from. The cells they found are actually MALTOMA LYMPHNOMA. I was confused andmisunderstood the Dr. Assistance when she had first spoke to me. Thank you for researching the other for me though.
I am still looking up information on this. It seems that it rare and soes not have alot of research done.
I will be going in for the second opinion in July.
Thank you,

Thank you so much for checking back in. I also could not find much information published in layman's terms for this diagnosis.

Here is what I was able to find -

Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue - Medscape Link
Look under Treatment heading for good info.
Cellular Classification of Adult Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

We wish you the best and hope the second opinion gives you answers and treatment plan,
Elizabeth
