is paramalignant syndrome common with malignant melanoma?

my dad had perianal malignant melanoma that was surgically removed 2 yrs ago & had recurrence 2 months ago. again he underwent surgery but after that his general condition started to deteriorates in the form of muscle weakness, inability to walk without assisstance & deterioration in hearing & vision. i wonder if this is attributed to paramalignant syndrome? is it common with melanoma and what can be done?
