From personal experience, my first year, like yours, has been difficult at times. I have been treated for prostate cancer, and I will not be sure for years if the treatment has been successful.

When you feel down find something else to divert your attention. Like post to the various websites like I am doing now. I have fun with MSNBC,WASHPOST, ADN, Indystar Yahoo. this is my first post to WebMD, and it is because of your request.

Above all do not tell others who do not already know, so that you do not hear more horror stories.

Add this line to your prayers. Give all I know battling cancer strength, courage, and success including me. This line came to me as I waited each day of my 44 days of treatment seeing all the children there for treatment.

Start an exercise program. Follow a healthy diet. Get involved.
