Mary Jane Minkin, MD responded:
Dear An_245914,
It is possible-in men, testosterone levels certainly do decline over time, however, the decline is usually more gradual then the abrupt change noted in women. And some men do get hot flashes. However, hot flashes can be due to medications or medical problems such as thyroid disorders. So if you continue to have hot flashes, do check in with your health care provider, who can order a testosterone level, and thyroid function tests, and any other evaluation needed.
Good luck,
Mary Jane
