Menstral Cycle after 8 years
An_246416 posted:
I am 58 and haven't had a period in 8 years. Menopause was basically a breeze, so symptoms other than no more period. Now 8 years later and I am having a cycle. What is going on?

Mary Jane Minkin, MD responded:
Dear An_246416,
Although this could represent some ovarian activity, since it has been 8 years since your last menstrual period, you should check in with your health care provider to make sure that there isn't anything amiss in the lining of your uterus or with your ovaries. They will most like want to start with either an ultrasound of your pelvis, or a sampling of the lining of your uterus (endometrial biopsy).
Good luck,
Mary Jane
