Mary Jane Minkin, MD responded:
Dear Anon_10343,
It's not clear what's going on. Have you had a followup urine culture to make sure the urine is clear? If it is, you will need to follow up with your doctor to figure out the cause of the pain. Menopause is associated with lots of things, but pain is rarely caused by menopausal health issues. The inflammation from the urinary tract infection certainly could have contributed to the vaginal bleeding; but something else is going on here.
Good luck,
Mary Jane

have not had a follow up urine test, the only thing he said was that he is going to send my ct results to my gynecologist because i have a three month pap because my last one came back abnormal, i do still have the fibroid and it has grown over time, the bleeding is what has concerned me the most because why would just taking antibiotics for a uti cause the bleeding and the pain i was having disappeared but is now back, guess its a medical mystery, i donot no if anyone will get to the bottom of it
