I have been experiencing dry mouth. Is this a result of being perimenopausal. Dry mouth is interrupting my sleep.

My mouth became very dry after my hysterectomy. When my estrogen replacement is too low, the dry mouth is worse. My eyes get dry sometimes too. It's worse when I have a glass of wine; I can feel my eyes getting drier while I'm drinking it. And this is white wine which isn't as estrogenic. And the wine doesn't have the "tipsy" effect that it did pre-hyst so I rarely even drink it.

I am so glad you posted this. I thought I was going nuts! I had a hysterectomy & put into menopause &my mouth is so dry too! I have to wait for 3 more weeks until I can take estrogen. I hope it gets better with the estrogen. Good luck to you!

My doctor actually tested me for Sjogren's Syndrome because my mouth was so dry. The lack of saliva has caused my gums to recede. My skin has gotten really dry too especially on my face. Estrogen hasn't helped with that as much and no amount or type of moisturizer has fixed it.

Did you have endometriosis? Is that why your doctor is withholding estrogen? How long ago was your surgery?
