    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

am I going though the change?

Since May '12 I've had my period every 43 to 69 days, I'm on day 67 right now. Before May I was getting it every 26 to 31 days. I'm 47 and have a history of uterine fibroids, but now I'm getting this discharge that is heavy (almost like a period, but without the blood) Is this part of going though "the change"?

    Mary Jane Minkin, MD responded:
    Dear Marajsky,
It isn't clear what the discharge would be; discharges aren't classic perimenopausal type symptoms. I'd wait to see what happens after your next period (which is likely to come sooner or later!)-if the discharge persists, I'd check it out with your health care provider,
    Good luck,
    Mary Jane
