I haven't had a period for about 7 or 8 months. I know that I'm in menopause. Should I be taking something to balance my hormones?

You must be in perimenopause since you haven't gone a full year without a period. In my opinion, if you aren't overly bothered by symptoms, there's no need to take anything. But if your symptoms are interfering with your daily life then you could try an over-the-counter remedy or HRT. No need to be miserable.
