Reunited after 2 yrs with period

I just turned 53 and have not had a period for 24 months. To my surprise I got my period last for 5 days cramps and everything. I'm so confused . Is this normal?

There are a number of posts here about post-menopausal bleeding. You can browse through the discussions to find them. It's oftentimes nothing serious (such as fibroids, polyps, some ovarian activity) but should be checked out.
