They say the average woman hits menopause around 51.5 years of age but have symptoms of peri-menopause prior to that. I have reached the age of 54 with no indication that i am approaching menopause, i still have regular periods every 28 days as i have since I started at the age of 9. I'm I a freak or are there other women also who feel like their periods are going to last until they die.

You certainly are not a freak! Yes, the average age of menopause is indeed 51.5 years, but the range is huge: like 35-60. So you could have several years of regular periods ahead of you. And as long as they aren't bothersome, well, that's great-so not to worry,
