Dear Anon_170514,
The average age at menopause is 51 ; range is from 35-60 or so. One year without a period is the definition of menopause. However, symptoms can start several years before the last period; and some women, alas, for example can have significant hot flashes for over 10 years after the last menstrual period. So it is quite variable-
