I am 58 and have had no period in 7 years .Today I woke up with one ? Is that common or should i see my Dr . ?
Mary Jane Minkin, MD responded:
Dear An_253528,
Yes, any bleeding that occurs more than one year after your last menstrual period should be medically evaluated;(s)he will most likely want to do an ultrasound of the lining of the uterus, or a sampling of the lining.
Good luck,
Mary Jane
