Should I worry?
maillady97 posted:
After six years with no period I have been spotting for two weeks now.
Could it be stress? or Do I have to start all over again with menopause?
Mary Jane Minkin, MD responded:
Dear Maillady97,
Hopefully it will be nothing of concern, but you do need to see your health care provider; any bleeding after a year of no periods requires evaluation; it could be something as simple as a small polyp in your cervix, but you need to check it out.
It would be unlikely that this is a regular period, so you shouldn't have to repeat all the menopausal symptoms-that would be very unusual.
Good luck,
Mary Jane
